God
brought Matt and Dallita together during their final year at Pensacola
Christian College. As a freshman in college, Dallita had surrendered
her life and talents to be available for foreign mission work during
a world missions conference in 1996. Two years later, Matt felt called
by God to serve as a foreign church planter, willing to go wherever
God would lead.
Matt and Dallita were married in July of 2000 and began serving the
Lord at West Florida Baptist Church in Milton, Florida. They served
for 2 years on staff in the christian school, and helped in various
aspects of the local church, gaining valuable ministry experience. Matt and Dallita made their first survey trip to Honduras in June 2002,
where God confirmed the call of missions in their lives. They began
raising prayer and financial support that same summer. In less than
a year and a half, the Lord had assembled a faithful team to support
them in their church planting ministry.
The Goins family arrived to San Pedro Sula, Honduras on December 20, 2004 after successfully completing their language training in San Jose, Costa Rica. They are currently living in El Progreso, Honduras, working on founding the first independent Baptist church in that city.
